Bee pollen contains over 96 different food nutrients. It is a complete food which means you can live on bee pollen alone. One of bee pollens greatest health benefits is getting rid of hay fever and plant allergies. Many thousands even hundreds of thousands have reported curing their allergies by eating bee pollen.

This particular health benefit is very contradictory. Bee pollen is harvested by the bees directly from the plants which cause allergies and hay fever in many people. So how can it be a health benefit at the same time.

This health benefit uses the theory developed by health professionals who practice homeopathy. Homeopathy in short is the practice of introducing minute amounts of the allergy or other condition to the body. Over time the body builds its own immunity much like a vaccine does. Further it is just like an allergist doctor who puts the actual allergen under the skin to cure your allergies. The body builds its own resistance and shazam your allergies go away.

If you take bee pollen for this reason you should start out with small does say a teaspoon a day and gradually increase the amount when your body builds resistance. Also in order to get the most out of this bee pollen health benefit it is best to eat bee pollen produced locally. Local pollen is what is causing your allergic reactions. Local bees harvest pollen from local plants and flowers so the health benefit will be greater. If you do not have a local producer try pollen from high desert and mountain areas. These areas have a more diverse group of plants and flowers from which the bees can gather pollen.

If you happen to know what you are allergic to you may be able to find bee pollen that has the pollen from these particular allergens in them. You can also email the bee producers and they may tell you what and where there bees gather pollen.

Bee pollen has few side effects. However, it is a wild food and it is gathered by the bee from nature. The bee nor the bee farmer processes bee pollen in any way. The farmer gathers the pollen off of the pollen traps and the pollen in most cases is just cleaned to remove the natural debris. Most of them do this by lightly shaking the pollen through filters especially designed for this purpose.

Bee pollen is a food not a supplement. There are many fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains that cause allergic reactions in some people. And there are many processed foods that cause major reactions from the chemicals that they contain.

98% of all people show no side effects from bee pollen and the other 2% show mild side effects. That said if you have a major reaction to bee stings you should start taking bee pollen in very small amounts because you are likely to be allergic to all bee products.

If you are going to eat bee pollen do not combine it with other herbs like ginseng, goldenseal or other herbs. Eat just the pollen, in that way you will know quickly if you can tolerate it.

Bee pollens source is flowers and plants. Most side effects have to do with skin reactions like hives and rashes. Another side effect is respiratory reactions. People who already have hay fever for example should be careful. This type of reaction is wheezing, sneezing, difficulty breathing, coughing and asthma like reactions. This is especially the case in children. If your child has any respiratory problems be very careful. One of the benefits of bee pollen is it can really help even cure hay fever over time.

Although bee pollen is highly and easily digestible by most humans some digestion problems have been reported.

If you have a reaction to eating bee pollen just discontinue use immediately and the side effects will normally disappear quickly.

There are more than 25 minerals in bee pollen. There are also 60 trace elements in bee pollen and many of these trace elements are really considered minerals by science. There are also many toxic minerals like mercury and aluminum found in the average body at this time. Almost all foods are found to have toxic minerals as our planet becomes more toxic from pollution.

It has been said that minerals can work without vitamins but in order for vitamins to be beneficial minerals have to be present in the right balance. Excessive amounts of minerals is generally as bad as a deficiency.

One of the greatest benefits of bee pollen is that the food has so many nutrients not found in other food sources. One of these is its diversity of minerals and trace elements. There are only a few food sources that have this many minerals. Only two others come to mind one is hemp seed and the other is chlorella. All of the antioxidant vitamins like Vitamin a, C and E can not function without these minerals. The large array of minerals in bee pollen insure that the vitamins you ingest will have the nutrients required to function properly. Also minerals in other foods are becoming more scarce as the crop soils are depleted of there top soil which is where the minerals in foods come from.

These are the major minerals found in Bee Pollen.

Calcium

Phosphorus

Iron

Copper

Potassium

Maganese

Silica

Sulpher

Sodium

Iodine

Titanium

Zinc

Chlorine

Boron

Rubidium

Strontium

Lead

Barium

Vanadium

Tin

The large amount of trace elements found in bee pollen are not found in any other food source as far as scientist have yet determined. The importance of these trace elements are also not yet known but many scientist strongly believe that the body needs many more elements than we have yet to research and determine if they are essential to human nutrition.

There are 18 vitamins in bee pollen. Vitamins are nutrients need by the human body in small amounts in order to insure growth and keep the body at optimal health. These vitamins are essential, that is to say the body does not manufacture them but must rely on the intake of these nutrients from food in order to survive.

Each different vitamin has a role to play in optimal health. Some say there are only 13 vitamins the body needs but as research evolves we learn more and more. It is now thought that science still does not know exactly what the body needs and is making new discoveries everyday. As new information becomes available the information we thought was correct and complete turns out not to be. Science is a never ending process of learning especially when it comes to the human body and nutrition.

Bee pollen is a complete food and eaten alone the humane body could survive for a long long time. However most folks do not want to eat just bee pollen. The best way to get the vitamins and other nutrients your body needs is to concentrate on eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes and whole grains. However bee pollen has many advantages and you may want to consider supplementing your diet with bee pollen everyday.

Minerals: It has been said that minerals can work without vitamins but in order for vitamins to be beneficial minerals have to be present in the right balance. Excessive amounts of minerals is generally as bad as a deficiency.

Fourteen minerals are essential to the body. Bee Pollen has all the essential minerals and 11 more for a total of 25. Bee pollen also has 60 trace elements some of which are considered to be trace minerals.

These are the major minerals found in Bee Pollen.

Bee Pollen contains at least 22 amino acids. Amino acids play a central role both as building blocks for proteins and as intermediates in metabolism. Our bodies can produce only ten amino acids, the rest have to be eaten everyday. If you fail to get just one amino acid it can result in degadation of the bodies proteins.
